We carry the most scalp hair we will ever have at birth. Density falls steeply through childhood and keeps thinning gradually from thirty onward. That slow, natural decline is senescent hair loss, and it is exactly what FSP is built to address.

01

The condition: senescent hair loss

Know what you are treating

Senescent alopecia (also called involutional alopecia) is the general thinning of both hair diameter and density as we grow older. It is a natural part of ageing and it affects both men and women, in varying degrees.

It is not the same as a sudden shed or a patchy loss. It is the slow, all-over thinning a client describes as "my hair just is not what it used to be," or noticing more scalp showing through when the hair is wet.

Say it simply in the chair

"As we age, some follicles stop producing hair, and the ones that remain can grow finer, weaker strands. FSP is designed to keep more of those follicles active and growing stronger hair."

Two things happen with age
  • Fewer working follicles. An increasing number of follicles stop producing hair, so overall follicular density drops.
  • Hardening around the follicle. A fibrosis (hardening) of the collagen structure around the follicle can compromise blood flow, which leaves the hair that does grow thinner and less vigorous.

FSP targets both: it works to keep follicles producing, and to soften that hardened collagen so blood can reach the root again.

02

How FSP works: the three actives

The science, in plain terms
Active 01

Kopexil

2,4-Diaminopyrimidine-3-oxide

A close relative of Minoxidil, but without the common side effects of scalp irritation, redness and itching. Kopexil inhibits an enzyme (Lysyl Hydroxylase) that hardens the collagen around the follicle. By softening that structure and improving its elasticity, microcapillary blood flow is restored, so compromised follicles can grow stronger, more vigorous hair.

Evidence: in a trial of 100+ men, Kopexil slowed hair loss after 3 weeks and kept an additional 8% of hair in the active growth (anagen) phase after 6 weeks.

Active 02

GP4G

Artemia (sea plankton) extract

An energiser that works at the cellular level. GP4G acts as a metabolic promoter, stimulating cell metabolism in the Dermal Papilla zone at the base of the follicle. This supports stronger, more rapid growth. Laboratory tests have shown GP4G can improve cell viability and increase the rate at which hair grows.

The synergy: Kopexil reopens the supply line, GP4G powers the growth. Together they are FSP's dynamic new approach to senescent hair loss.

Active 03

Broad Spectrum Herbal Extract Complex

A potent botanical complex that complements Kopexil and GP4G, working in three ways:

DHT inhibitors Saw Palmetto, Nettle, Caffeine, Green Tea, Coltsfoot, Yarrow

Scalp & circulation Grape Seed, Oleic Acid, Gotu Kola, Rosemary, Sage, White Birch

Scalp health Tea Tree, Horsetail

Useful to know

FSP is formulated specifically for senescent hair loss, but because the herbal complex includes DHT inhibitors, empirical evidence has shown some success with other presentations too: telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, androgenic (hereditary) alopecia, and post-chemotherapy hair loss. Set expectations honestly: these are not the primary claim, but FSP may help.

The FSP system

Three steps, used together

FSP is a program, not a single product. The prep Shampoo and Rinse clean the hair and open the scalp for maximum absorption, then the Intensive Scalp Serum delivers the actives. The serum is the essential daily step, the Trio Pack is the natural way for a client to start.

Step 1 · Prep cleanse

FSP Hair + Scalp Shampoo

A sulphate free preparatory shampoo that gently cleanses and preps the scalp for absorption. Contains Kopexil, GP4G and the herbal complex, plus Flaxseed Extract and polymers to add volume and fullness to thinning hair.

Step 2 · Prep condition

FSP Hair + Scalp Rinse

A preparatory conditioning rinse that detangles and preps the scalp for maximum serum absorption. Same active base as the shampoo, with Flaxseed Extract and polymers for volume and fullness.

Step 3 · The active step (essential)

FSP Intensive Scalp Serum

The heart of the program. A leave-in serum formulated with 15,000 ppm Kopexil and 10,000 ppm GP4G plus the Broad Spectrum Herbal Extract Complex. Sprayed daily onto thinning areas. A 120ml bottle lasts about 90 days.

The protocol

How to use it, step by step

Shampoo

Wash with FSP Hair + Scalp Shampoo and rinse out.

Rinse

Apply FSP Hair + Scalp Rinse, massage vigorously into the scalp, leave for 2 to 5 minutes, then rinse out.

Towel dry

Lightly dry the hair so the scalp is damp, not wet.

Serum

Spray FSP Intensive Scalp Serum directly onto the scalp where the hair is thinning. Massage in vigorously and leave in. Do not rinse.

Style

Style as normal.

The rules that matter
  • Daily is non-negotiable. For optimum results the serum must be used every single day.
  • Not washing today? Apply the serum anyway, morning or evening, and leave it in.
  • Dosage. About 8 sprays per day. A 120ml bottle lasts roughly 90 days, so it is a predictable reorder.
  • Patience. Hair grows about 1 cm a month, so results take time to become visible.
Pre-empt the panic

In the first few days it is normal to see more shedding than usual. The vigorous massage simply dislodges hairs that were already in the shedding phase (catagen and telogen). Tell the client this upfront so they do not stop early.

Caution

FSP is a powerful combination of ingredients. Avoid contact with eyes, and rinse immediately with water if contact occurs. If irritation persists, consult a doctor. If any allergic reaction occurs on the scalp, discontinue use immediately.

05

The evidence

What backs the program

The 2014 clinical trial. A six month independent, medically supervised trial at the Knudsen Hair Transplantation Clinic in Double Bay, Sydney, supervised by hair transplantation surgeon Dr Russell Knudsen. It involved 30 male and female participants with senescent hair loss.

67%
of participants saw a reduction or cessation of thinning
42%
experienced an increase in hair volume
5.5–11%
range of hair volume increase recorded

Individual case study

Caucasian male, 58 years of age

Not visibly balding, but a classic case of senescent thinning: "nowhere near the hair he had in his twenties." He used the serum, shampoo and rinse daily. A marked increase in hair abundance appeared after just six weeks, and by six months he had a different head of hair, cutting it more often. His hairdresser was amazed, and a colleague thought he was wearing a wig.

Measured on the HD-PRO Hair Diagnostic System at 6 months:

Hair diameter+30%
Hair density+25%

Australian Innovation Patent

In 2011 the Australian Government's Intellectual Property office granted the FSP Hair Loss Program an Innovation Patent, a first for an Australian haircare company.

Recommending FSP with confidence
Who FSP is for
  • Clients noticing gradual all-over thinning of density and hair diameter with age.
  • More scalp visible when the hair is wet.
  • "Not the hair I used to have." Both men and women.
  • Worth a conversation for telogen effluvium, alopecia areata, androgenic or post-chemotherapy loss, framed as "may help."
How to open the conversation
  • Notice it out loud, kindly: "I am seeing a little more scalp through here than last time, is that something you have noticed?"
  • Normalise it: senescent thinning is natural and extremely common.
  • Offer the plan, not just a product: start on the Trio Pack, commit to the daily serum.
  • Set the timeline: sixty days for first signs, six months for the real change.
"Is this just Minoxidil?"

No. The active, Kopexil, works in a similar way to Minoxidil but is a different compound, chosen specifically because it avoids the common side effects of scalp irritation, redness and itching. FSP also pairs it with GP4G and a broad herbal complex, so it is a more complete approach than a single active.

"Will it work for my kind of hair loss?"

FSP is formulated specifically for senescent (age-related) thinning, and that is where the evidence is strongest. Because the herbal complex includes DHT inhibitors, there has also been some empirical success with other types of loss. Be honest: it may help, and the daily program is the best way to find out over three to six months.

"Why am I shedding more since I started?"

That is expected in the first few days. The vigorous massage dislodges hairs that were already on their way out. It settles quickly, and it is not the serum causing loss. This is exactly why we mention it before the client starts.

"How much does it cost to keep going?"

The serum is the essential ongoing item: a 120ml bottle is about 90 days of daily use, so roughly one bottle a quarter. The shampoo and rinse are prep steps used alongside it. Framing it as a quarterly reorder makes the commitment clear and predictable.

"How soon will I see something?"

Hair grows about 1 cm a month, so change is gradual. Most people notice a visible or felt improvement around sixty days, with the biggest difference at about six months of consistent daily use.
